Pokémon Legends Arceus, a new game Pokémon in open world announced

In parallel with the advertisements of Remakes of Generation 4, Brilliant Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, Pokémon Presents today announced a brand new title called Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Like Brilliant Diamond Pokémon and Pokémon Shining Pearl, Pokémon Legends Arceus takes place in the Sinnoh area, a sinnoh of the past. The game is a whole new open world experience that takes place in a sinnoh feudal region well before the events of Pokémon BD and SP.

The trailer begins with a narrator telling a story that takes place for a long time when "Sinnoh was still a vast desert." The trailer shows one of the villages of the world, as well as a variety of different landscapes scattered in this wild region.

The gameplay includes images of a wandering player around the world, sneaking on wild Pokémon, catching Pokémon outside the battle and some combat mechanisms. It also seems that the three starting Pokémon will be CynDaquil of Pokémon gold and silver, rowlet of pokemon sun and moon and oshawott of black and white pokemon.

The trailer ends with the revelation of the legendary Pokémon, Arceus, raising the question of the role of Pokémon in the history and its connection with the player.

The game should go out on Nintendo Switch at the beginning of 2022, although no specific output date has been announced at this stage. Brilliant Diamond Pokémon and Pokémon Shining Pearl will come out a few months earlier at the end of 2021.
