Minecraft Dungeons was delayed to guarantee a good, fun game

We will have a better end product and a happier team that can be proud of that, says the executive producer David Nisshagen.

We have recently seen some games that have delayed due to the effects of Covid-19 pandemic ödland 3 to The last of us part 2. Another game that has delayed lately - a relatively low delay - Was Mojang's upcoming action roleplay. Minecraft Dungeons, which was originally displayed this month, but now published in May.

Recently, the developers with Eurogamer talked slightly more about the delay. Mojang's executive producer David Nisshagen spoke about why the team had decided to go back to the game, and said that they did not just do not want to exercise excessive pressure on themselves, but also not sure they would publish in their originally intended windows. They would not be able to guarantee the kind of experience they wanted to deliver and they could be proud of.

We do not want to burden the teams at this time, Nisshagen said. We could probably have been [the old date], but that probably felt uncomfortable - partly for the team and also for the players from whom we could not guarantee that they would get a good, fun game. When we take this small additional end time, we have a better end product and a happier team that can be proud of it.

Minecraft Dungeons will be available on May 26 for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. When starting, there will be no cross-play, but it will be available later.
